Costa Rica - Sabanilla de Alajuela - Las Lajas - Natural - Caturra, Catuai
Costa Rica Las Lajas, lives up to the bold expectations from the region but with BIG fruity vibes!
Natural process coffees from Costa Rica are few and far between, big fruity coffees are even harder to come by. So imagine our excitement when we stumbled across this offering fron Las Lajas.
Situated within the Sabanilla de Alajuela region, Las Lajas is a processing mill owned and operated by husband and wife team Oscar and Francisca Chacon.
Third generation farmers that are committed to the highest of quality practices, this duo have built a reputation for producing some of the worlds best natural and honey processed coffee.
Using a slow turning natural process, this specific microlot boasts extremely juicy and complex characteristics in the cup.
We are getting big notes of raspberry both on the nose and on the palate. Morphing into cacao and goji, accompanied by a complex acidity that lingers. Great with milk, even better without.
